If you’re experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED), you’re not alone. The Massachusetts Male Aging Study (MMAS) found that 52% of study participants suffered from minimal, moderate, and complete impotence. And while ED most often appears as men reach their early 40’s, this study found that factors other than age, like cigarette smoking, could increase a man’s chances of experiencing ED.
What is ED?
Advertisements for erectile dysfunction are popping up everywhere these days. From radio, to television, to app’s, ED is a popular topic. That’s a good thing because it makes it easier for us to talk about it. So what exactly is ED?... It’s actually just one type of male sexual dysfunction.
Male sexual dysfunction can include ED, diminished libido, or abnormal ejaculation. In the case of ED, it’s the inability to get and keep an erection. Sometimes ED is persistent, and at other times it can pop up periodically. If you or your partner are experiencing symptoms of erectile dysfunction or other medical problems be sure to consult with your physician.
What else can you do?
The MMAS survey mentioned above found that advancing age played a significant part in erectile dysfunction. Unless your Benjamin Button and you’re aging backwards there’s nothing we can do about our age. There are, however, a number of other behavioral factors that can be involved.
Medications, smoking and lifestyle should be taken into account, and hormones, heart disease and diabetes, can also affect erections. But that’s not all – obesity, lack of exercise, and watching television have all been found to put men at risk for ED. Stress can also be a factor.
3 ways to combat ED starting today
- Have regular check-ups with your doctor
- Stop smoking and limit alcohol intake
- Exercise regularly
Additional Effective Suggestions
We understand that discussing ED with a partner can be complicated and stressful for relationships, so we’ve chosen a few items from our shop that may be helpful as Valentine’s Day approaches.
Intimate Wellness Shop’s 3 Curated Recommendations:
Recommendation #1 – Resource / Education / Conversation Starter
Books can be good for your health by providing information that can increase knowledge and offer advice. For ED, and many other penis-related topics, we chose The Penis Book by Aaron Spitz, MD.
This book is not only a comprehensive resource, The Penis Book prominently features an easy-to-follow holistic five-step plan for optimum penis health, including plant-based eating recommendations, information on some penis-healthy foods, and suggested exercises for penis wellbeing.
For yourself and your partner, and useful to men and women alike, The Penis Book is a one-stop-shop for the care and maintenance of the penis in your life. Perhaps this may be the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your intimate relationship.
Recommendation #2 – Intimate Nourishment
The National Institute on Aging recommends speaking with your doctor before taking any supplements and also advocates that people over the age of 50, the age when many men can start to experience symptoms of sexual dysfunction, may need more vitamins and minerals. Have you considered a supplement that targets male sexual function?
Revactin is a safe, physician-formulated over-the-counter men’s sexual function supplement with unique natural ingredients that support erectile health.
Created by a team of leading doctors and scientists, Revactin took more than a decade of research to develop and has been shown in a clinical study to help enhance erectile function by aiding the production of nitric oxide (NO), which is vital to erectile function.
Recommendation #3 – Erection Assistance
Just like an athletes’ elastic compression bandage can add strength and support, an erection ring can provide reinforcement to a penis. The team at Intimate Wellness Shop has chosen the Vedo Drive Vibrating Ring to provide erection assistance.
When worn at the base of the penis, the Vedo Drive Vibrating Ring surrounds the shaft with pressure to help maintain a full erection.
This ring makes a wonderful Valentine’s Day partner present because the clever, curvy tip design fits perfectly against a partner’s most sensitive area, thereby creating a sexual celebration sure to make hearts beat faster.
